Peppercorn Banquets and Catering located at The Ludlow Mansion in Monroe, Wisconsin, began in 2000 as an expansion of The Peppercorn Café, then owned and operated in Monroe by Eric & Ann Ekum for over 14 years.The PepperCorn’s banquet captain at the time, Shirley Haglund, teamed up with Eric to continue and expand the reputation of unsurpassed quality for which The Peppercorn Café had come to be known.In November of 2006, Shirley and her husband Randy purchased Peppercorn Banquets from Eric & Ann. With the addition of their son-in-law, Eric Rufer, as Chef/Kitchen Manager, the Haglund family re-branded the business as PepperCorn Banquets & Catering, LLC. In October of 2009, Randy & Shirley acquired the entire historic Ludlow Mansion property and re-opened the Bed & Breakfast (formerly known as The Idle Hour Mansion). After 7 years, in fall of 2016 the B&B closed its doors for the last time.
